Interests and Activities:

In addition to teaching in the areas of human sexuality, families and their communities, aging and the family, experiential education, life span development, and family relations, Dr. Wilgen has traveled extensively in Europe, Australia, and South Africa observing how these countries administer their sexuality education programs.

Dr. Wilgen has served on the Board of Directors for Planned Parenthood of Delaware, American Cancer Society, and the Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality, where she gives workshops for other professionals in the field.

Dr. Wilgen particularly enjoys working with students in her teaching and advising roles. In 2000, the University of Delaware honored her with the Award for Excellence in Academic Advising.

Dr. Susan Kaye received her Ph.D. as a clinical sexologist and D.H.S. as a doctorate of human sexuality. She is a certified clinical sexologist and also holds an associate certificate in sex education. Dr. Kaye graduated from Villanova University with a degree in human services. She is a personal coach for singles and couples. Singles who are looking to create relationship opportunities, and couples who would like to enrich their relationship. Susan's homework assignments range from communication skills practice to tantra, massage and yoga for couples. Susan is also a Certified Divorce Mediator and can assist partners in the legal separating of their relationship. Susan conducts workshops regarding women's sexual health and well-being. She has worked with male clients who have need for social skills training and overcoming fears and anxieties around intimacy. She is a trained massage therapist and thus teaches the necessity of positive touch throughout the life span. Susan is a member of The American College of Sexology, American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists and also the Society for the Scientific Study of Sex.

Alisha Raiford-Hall works as a consultant, trainer and educator. She is most passionate about her work in the field of human sexuality but shares her passion and drive in the areas of organizational development and staff training, She frequently conducts workshops and seminars on topics such as human sexuality, women’s health issues, relationships, child development and developmental disabilities services. In addition to working as a training consultant for a national training organization she has also spent several years working as a Parent Educator with specialized work for teen and young adult parents. She has most recently conducted group therapy work in social/sexual skills for persons with developmental disabilities. She is pursuing a doctoral degree in human sexuality from Widener University and holds a Master’s degree in adult education. Presently Alisha Raiford-Hall is a Training Administrator for the State of Delaware and is writing her first book on Relationships and Sexuality.

Susan Wyche Muhammad is the Regional Resource Coordinator for the National HIV Testing Mobilization Campaign of the US Department of Health and Human Services, Office of HIV/AIDS Policy. The campaign is a national effort to promote HIV testing. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is mobilizing communities to encourage their members to be tested and to know their HIV status. The campaign seeks to address testing, policies, and stigma reduction for HIV/AIDS in minority communities. The Regional Resource Coordinators educate the public through exhibits and presentations, about HIV testing as well as encourage people between the ages of 13-64 to know their HIV status by having an HIV test. The primary goal of the campaign is to increase, by 50,000, the number of people who know their HIV status; and for those who test positive, to get them into care and treatment as quickly as possible.

Susan was also the Project Director for the Tri City Challenge, which was a special project to raise awareness and educate communities in Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington, DC about the benefits of good nutrition and physical activity. Tri-City Challenge was supported by the Region 3 office of the US Department of Health and Human Services, and served as the frame work for the Secretary of Health and Human Services’ Steps to a Healthier US initiative. Susan has a Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Health Administration.
