Reported Pregnancy Highlights Key Facts Of the 14,671 reported pregnancies to Delaware residents in 2004, 11,358 resulted in live births, 50 fetal deaths, and 3,263 induced terminations (See technical notes for a description of reported pregnancies)1. (See Table D-1). The five-year average (2000-2004) pregnancy rate was 83.1 per 1000 women aged 15-44, which increased from 82.5 in 1999-2003 (See Table D-8). The five-year average (2000-2004) pregnancy rate for 15-17 year olds was lowest in Kent County, with 37.0 pregnancies per 1,000 females, followed by Sussex County, with a rate of 41.4, and New Castle county, with a rate of 44.9. (See Table D-8). For each of the counties, the 2000-2004 rate was lower than its 1999-2003 rate. The five-year average (2000-2004) pregnancy rate for 18-19 year olds was lowest in New Castle County (103.9 pregnancies per 1,000 females), and highest in Sussex County (127.4). (See Table D-8). Women under 25 account for 55% of all induced terminations of pregnancy in Delaware. 1.
