DRINKING WATER NOTICE

WARNING

Briarwood Manor Mobile Home Park’s water
has high levels of Manganese

Water sample results collected on January 10, 2008, February 7, 2008, March 13, 2008 and April 9, 2008 showed manganese levels of 0.0703 mg/L, 0.0764 mg/L, 0.0715 mg/L and 0.0762 respectively. This is above the manganese standard, or secondary maximum contaminant level (MCL), of 0.05 mg/L adopted by the State of Delaware. Manganese in drinking water is a secondary contaminant and may cause staining of clothing and plumbing fixtures.

What should I do?

There is nothing you need to do at this time.

What happened? What is being done?

We failed to meet a secondary standard for manganese.  We will investigate treatment options to determine the best way to resolve this issue. We expect to be able to correct the problem within 6 months.
