Medicaid Waiver for Assisted Living

Program/Service description

The Medicaid Waiver for Assisted Living provides services and supports for eligible older persons and adults with physical disabilities who otherwise would require care in a nursing home. Services are delivered in assisted living facilities. The goal of the program is to provide services which allow an individual to live as independently as possible in a homelike, residential setting.

The following services are provided as part of the Medicaid Waiver for Assisted Living:

*Public funding means that the program is paid for, in part or in whole, by the government. Some publicly-funded programs have eligibility requirements and provide services at low cost or no cost to people who qualify. Most of these programs and services though, are also available to people who are able to pay privately (with their own money).
