CARE Delaware: Caregiver Resource Centers

General Information

The Division of Services for Aging and Adults with Physical Disabilities' CARE Delaware program supports eight staffed Caregiver Resource Centers located throughout Delaware in senior centers and at Easter Seals in New Castle County. (The Easter Seals Caregiver Resource Center also provides assistive technology resource information.)  

The Caregiver Resource Centers are staffed on a part-time basis. Materials can be reviewed at the centers or checked out for home use. The centers are the community’s access point for information on a variety of caregiving issues. The coordinators at each center understand the challenges that caregivers face. They can provide information, assistance and support that can be the most helpful in a caregiver’s individual situation. They will help caregivers navigate the array of services available, find solutions to individualized concerns and make appropriate referrals. Many Caregiver Resource Centers also have support groups.

CARE Delaware also has partnered with Delaware 's system of 33 libraries to help caregivers get the information that they need. To locate your local library, visit the Delaware Libraries website or contact the Delaware Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC). In addition, caregivers can visit the Delaware Division of Library's online Caregiver Resource Guide for more information.

Caregivers also can download a copy of the Guide to Services for Older Delawareans and Persons with Disabilities for information about available resources. Printed copies of the guide are available at the Caregiver Resource Centers and at local libraries.
