C.A.R.E. DELAWARE BRINGS NATIONAL CAREGIVER CONFERENCE TO DOVER

The Delaware Fearless Caregiver Conference is set for May 29th in Dover Registration is Free

Delaware - Recognizing that caregivers need resources, support and relief, the Division of Services for Aging and Adults with Physical Disabilities (DSAAPD) is sponsoring the 69th Fearless Caregiver conference Thursday May 29th in Dover. Statistics show families who care for older adults need support. The pressure of their ongoing role can cause increased stress and depression. With little free time and few resources, caregivers are often forced to ignore their own health issues. In addition to their primary jobs in the workplace and at home, hundreds of Delawareans are taking on the additional role of caregiver to others.

"The importance of offering support to caregivers motivates us each year to provide these conferences," explained Guy Perrotti, Director DSAPPD. "Input from past attendees revealed how essential it is to provide support, an event where they can interact with each other to learn not only that they are not alone, but that there is help and assistance available."

Today's Caregiver magazine, the first national magazine for family and professional caregiver and C.A.R.E. Delaware host this day of respite, support and education for family caregivers on May 29th at the Modern Maturity Center in Dover.

"One reason why we've created the Fearless Caregiver conference is so all area family caregivers can come together for a day designed just for them. There's more power, more strength, more love and more wisdom in that room than people could ever imagine," according to Gary Barg, Founder and Editor-In-Chief of Today’s Caregiver magazine and author of the book, The Fearless Caregiver: How to Get the Best Care for Your Loved One and Still Have a Life of Your Own.

Who Should Attend: The Delaware Fearless Caregiver Conference provides practical information, advice and supportive resources for those caring for their loved ones. The conference is designed to help attendees receive hands-on advice for his or her care giving challenges.

Event Details: The Delaware Fearless Caregiver Conference will be held on May 29th, from 8:30am to 3:00pm at Modern Maturity Center located at 1121 Forrest Avenue in Dover.

Registration: Go online to www.caregiver.com or call 800-829-2734. Complimentary registrations are provided by C.A.R.E Delaware and include lunch and a copy of Today's Caregiver magazine.

C.A.R.E. Delaware is a service provided by Delaware Health and Social Services' Division of Services for Aging and Adults with Physical Disabilities (DSAAPD) to assist caregivers.
