NOV. 6 HEALTH SUMMIT FOCUSES ON COMMUNICABLE DISEASES
Nationally recognized presenters will provide information on communicable disease treatment and prevention measures to an audience of health care professionals at the 2009 Health Summit. The Summit is a joint effort of Delaware's Division of Public Health (DPH) and the Medical Society of Delaware (MSD) and is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 6 at Clayton Hall, University of Delaware.
Health care professionals will receive an "Update from the CDC: Novel H1N1 and Seasonal Influenza" from Iabode Akinsanya-Beysolow, M.D., MPH, FAAP, a Medical Officer with the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Other topics will include:
- Improving Correctional Health - an Investment in Healthy Communities
- Perinatal HIV Epidemic in the United States
- The Evolving Face of HPV
- Delivering Infectious Disease Services to Adults with Serious Mental Illness and Co-occurring Substance Use Disorders
- Laboratory Services During Diagnosis and Management of TB
Media representatives are invited to attend all or part of the day to report on information communicated at the Summit.
