Diabetes Self-Management Skill Classes Available Statewide


WHO: Delaware's Division of Public Health
WHAT: The Delaware Division of Public Health's Diabetes and Heart Disease Prevention and Control Program is offering free, weekly classes with a duration of six weeks for Delawareans who have type 2 diabetes. The two and a half hour classes, held in locations throughout the state, were designed by Stanford University to teach critical skills needed in the day-to-day management of the disease, such as:
  • Proper exercise
  • Healthy eating
  • Proper use of medication
  • Effective communication
  • Understanding and managing common symptoms
  • And more.
