Reported Pregnancy Highlights Key Facts • There were 14,409 reported pregnancies to Delaware residents in 2002: 11,083 live births, 65 fetal deaths, and 3,261 induced terminations (see technical notes for a description of reported pregnancies)1. (See Table D-1). • The five-year average (1998-2002) pregnancy rate for 15-17 year olds was lowest in Kent County, with 44.0 pregnancies per 1,000 females, followed by Sussex County, with a rate of 48.3, and New Castle county, with a rate of 50.5. (See Table D-5). • The five-year average (1998-2002) pregnancy rate for 18-19 year olds was lowest in New Castle County (102 pregnancies per 1,000 females), and highest in Sussex County (145.7 ). (See Table D- 5). • Women of Hispanic origin had the lowest percentage of pregnancies (16.5%) that ended in induced termination in 2002. (see Table D-2). 1.
