• Sussex County had the highest percentage of residents 65 years of age and older among the three 
counties at 18.8% in 2002 (see Table A-2). 
• Kent County had the highest percentage of black residents among the three counties at 22.8% in 
2002 (see Table A-2). 
• The New Castle County population accounted for 63.5% of the total State population in 2002 (see 
Table A-2).
