Reported Pregnancy Highlights
Key Facts
• "There were 14,299 reported pregnancies to Delaware residents in 2001: 10,747 live births, 63 fetal deaths, and 3,489 induced terminations (see technical notes for a description of reported pregnancies)1. (See Table D-1)."
• "The five-year average (1997-2001) pregnancy rate for 15-17 year olds was lowest in Kent County, with 46.1 pregnancies per 1,000 females, followed by Sussex County, with a rate of 50.1, and New Castle county, with a rate of 50.5. (See Table D-5)."
• "The five-year average (1997-2001) pregnancy rate for 18-19 year olds was lowest in New Castle County (101.0 pregnancies per 1,000 females), and highest in Sussex County (155.3 ). (See Table D-5)."
• Women of Hispanic origin had the lowest percentage of pregnancies (17.7%) that ended in induced termination in 2001. (see Table D-2).
