Reported Pregnancies 2003 Reported Pregnancy Highlights There were 14,523 reported pregnancies to Delaware residents in 2003: 11,337 live births, 63 fetal deaths, and 3,123 induced terminations (see technical notes for a description of reported pregnancies)1. (See Table D-1). The five-year average (1999-2003) pregnancy rate for 15-17 year olds was lowest in Kent County, with 41.0 pregnancies per 1,000 females, followed by Sussex County, with a rate of 42.7, and New Castle county, with a rate of 47.8. (See Table D-5). For each of the counties, the 1999-2003 rate was lower than its 1998-2002 rate. The five-year average (1999-2003) pregnancy rate for 18-19 year olds was lowest in New Castle County (102.3 pregnancies per 1,000 females), and highest in Sussex County (137.9 ). (See Table D-5). Women under 20 account for 21% of all induced terminations of pregnancy in Delaware. 1.
