ORC - Radioactive Material Facilities

Radioactive Materials Facility Information Welcome to the Office of Radiation Control (ORC). Our mission is to  protect the health and safety of Delawareans by regulating the use of  ionizing radiation in medicine, industry, research and education, and to  provide health protection resources in the event of a radiological  emergency.

ORC registers facilities that possess radioactive materials, per part B  of the state radiation control regulations. The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) licenses, inspects, and enforces regulations for use, storage, transport and accountability of radioactive materials in Delaware. From an NRC licensing perspective, Delaware is considered a "Non-agreement" state.
