There are various viruses that cause hepatitis. The most common hepatitis viruses include hepatitis A, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, and hepatitis E. Hepatitis A and E are typically acute infections where hepatitis B, C, and D can become chronic illnesses that if left untreated these can cause significant damage to the liver and lead to long lasting liver damage and significantly higher risk for liver cancer, as hepatitis B and hepatitis C are the leading causes of liver cancer.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Follow the links viral hepatitis following CDC cases definitions.
