Partners work to implement needed <a href=\"\/dph\/dpc\/panoenvpol.html\"><span class=\"dhss-red\"><u>policy, systems, and environmental changes<\/u><\/span><\/a> to promote healthy eating and active living.<br>\n\n\n\n<strong>We are accomplishing this by addressing:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<ul>\n\n\n\n <li>The policies, systems, and environments that impact the social determinants of health<\/li>\n\n\n\n <li>The health inequities that communities experience<\/li>\n\n\n\n <li>A shared agenda and narrative developed and adopted, together<\/li>\n\n\n\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Advancing Healthy Lifestyles Settings:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<ul>\n\n\n\n <li>School<\/li>\n\n\n\n <li>Community<\/li>\n\n\n\n <li><a href=\"\/dph\/dpc\/panoworksites.html\"><u>Workplace<\/u><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>Learn more about the Advancing Healthy Lifestyles Initiatives <a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthydelaware.org\/Community-Partners\/Advancing-Healthy-Lifestyles#intro\"><span class=\"dhss-red\"><u>here<\/u><\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<h2>Other PANO Initiatives<\/h2>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.doe.k12.de.us\/cms\/lib\/DE01922744\/Centricity\/Domain\/69\/Focused%20Fitness%20Report.%2010.4.23.pdf\"><span class=\"dhss-red\"><u><strong>Physical Activity Assessments<\/strong><\/u><\/span><\/a><br>\n\n\n\nThe Physical Activity, Nutrition, and Obesity Prevention (PANO) Program partners with the Department of Education (DOE) on physical education regulations. Delaware regulations require physical fitness assessments in grades 4, 7, 9, and 10. PANO provides support for Welnet, the physical assessment and education tool, and technical assistance to educators to improve implementation and reporting of the assessment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/shapedelaware.org\/\"><span class=\"dhss-red\"><u><strong>SHAPE Delaware<\/strong><\/u><\/span><\/a><br>\n\n\n\nThe Physical Activity, Nutrition, and Obesity Prevention (PANO) Program provides technical assistance and resources to Delaware&#8217;s professional Society of Health and Physical Educators (SHAPE DE), which makes up the professional workforce of health, physical activity, and physical education teachers throughout Delaware. PANO provides technical assistance and administrative support for SHAPE DE&#8217;s annual convention. The SHAPE DE annual convention is designed to provide SHAPE members and health education professionals the opportunity to share instructional ideas with each other and learn from local and national subject matter experts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ltgovernorschallenge.org\/\"><span class=\"dhss-red\"><u><strong>Lieutenant Governor&#8217;s Challenge<\/strong><\/u><\/span><\/a><br>\n\n\n\nThe Physical Activity, Nutrition, and Obesity Prevention (PANO) Program partners with the Lt. Governor&#8217;s office to support the Lt. Governor&#8217;s challenge. The mission of the Lt. Governor&#8217;s Challenge is to improve the quality of life of all Delawareans. The program honors the individuals, organizations and institutions that inspire others by making healthy choices the easiest choices for their communities, ultimately helping elevate the well-being, productivity, and prosperity of the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Let&#8217;s Get Healthy Sussex Initiatives<\/strong><br>\n\n\n\nThe PANO Program partners with the Sussex County Health Coalition on the Let&#8217;s Get Healthy Sussex Initiative.
