The Council is charged with monitoring Delaware\u2019s Emergency Medical Services system to ensure that all elements of the system are functioning in a coordinated, effective and efficient manner in order to reduce morbidity and mortality rates for the citizens of Delaware.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>DEMSOC consists of 20 members as defined in <a href=\"http:\/\/delcode.delaware.gov\/title16\/c097\/index.shtml\">\u00a79703, Title 16, Delaware Code<\/a> and is comprised from a mixed representation of key stakeholders. The membership includes representation from:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<ul>\n\n\n\n <li>Advanced life support agencies<\/li>\n\n\n\n <li>Basic life support agencies<\/li>\n\n\n\n <li>Citizens at large<\/li>\n\n\n\n <li>Emergency medicine<\/li>\n\n\n\n <li>Trauma<\/li>\n\n\n\n <li>Emergency Medical Services for Children<\/li>\n\n\n\n <li>Fire Commission<\/li>\n\n\n\n <li>Homeland security<\/li>\n\n\n\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>The Delaware Office of Emergency Medical Services provides staff support for DEMSOC meeting as well as the annual report. The DEMSOC meets several times throughout the year in public meetings to address current issues and provide support for developing workable solution to those issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>The annual DEMSOC report is created to detail the status of EMS in the state of Delaware. This annual report provides a detailed accounting of the EMS system as a whole while at the same time allowing for direct comparisons between the years.
