Yet oral health problems\n\n\n  can almost always be prevented.\n\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\n\n\n  Not only can dental disease be extremely painful, but treatment can be very costly for parents. Taking good care of your child\u2019s\n\n\n  teeth through these simple, preventative activities can help to avoid significant problems down the road.\n\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n<ul>\n\n\n  <li>Take your child to the dentist every six months.\n\n\n  <\/li>\n\n\n  <li>Make sure your children brush with fluoride toothpaste twice a day and floss daily.\n\n\n    <ul>\n\n\n      <li>\n\n\n        <a href=\"http:\/\/youtu.be\/Jj53ki1rtTU\">English version of cartoon<\/a>\n\n\n      <\/li>\n\n\n      <li>\n\n\n        <a href=\"http:\/\/youtu.be\/q6topzf4MxA\">Spanish version of cartoon<\/a>\n\n\n      <\/li>\n\n\n    <\/ul>\n\n\n  <\/li>\n\n\n  <li>Brush and floss your children\u2019s teeth until they\u2019re coordinated enough to tie their shoes, usually around age six.\n\n\n  <\/li>\n\n\n  <li>Limit sugary foods and drinks, including sticky foods such as raisins and fruit roll-ups.\n\n\n  <\/li>\n\n\n  <li>Get dental sealants (a liquid that prevents tooth decay) by age six to protect the first permanent molars.\n\n\n  <\/li>\n\n\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<p>\n\n\n  Dental disease can negatively impact a child\u2019s development and self-esteem.
