Cultivating crops and raising livestock poses\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n        different health hazards than the factories where they are processed into the products we buy.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n      <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n      <h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n        Potential Hazards\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n      <\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n      <p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n        Working on farms and poultry houses can pose hazards such as:\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n      <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n      <ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n        <li>Dusts and animal waste\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n        <\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n        <li>Working with and around machinery and heavy equipment\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n        <\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n        <li>Biological hazards, including avian flu\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n        <\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n        <li>Extreme heat and cold\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n        <\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n      <\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n      <p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n        Hazards of food processing facilities can include:\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n      <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n      <ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n        <li>Working around industrial machinery and equipment\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n        <\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n        <li>Ammonia, commonly used in refrigeration systems\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n        <\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n        <li>Biological hazards associated with the slaughter of animals\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n        <\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n        <li>Grain dusts and other respiratory hazards\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n        <\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n      <\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n      <h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n        Lowering Your Risk\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n      <\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n      <p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n        Education:\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n      <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n      <ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n        <li>Know the proper procedures for the equipment and materials you use and <em>Follow Them!<\/em>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n        <\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n        <li>Read the MSDS sheets for chemicals and products you are exposed to.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n        <\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n      <\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n      <p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n        Protection:\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n      <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n      <ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n        <li>Wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) for each activity.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n        <\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n        <li>Follow proper procedures for machines and equipment you work with.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n        <\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n      <\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n    <\/td>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n    <td class=\"text-center\">\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n      <br>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n      <\/td><td>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n       <img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Healthy Workplaces -
