This integrated focus gives MDCH and its partners the opportunity to expand\n\n\n    their efforts to reduce health disparities to also include achieving health equity.\n\n\n  <\/li>\n\n\n  <li>\n\n\n    <a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/dph\/pdf\/guidelinestoachievinghealthequityinpublichealth.pdf\">NACCHO: Guidelines for Achieving Health Equity in Public Health\n\n\n    Practice, 2009, Richard Hofrichter, PhD<\/a><br>\n\n\n    The purpose of the <em>Guidelines for Health Equity in Public Health Practice<\/em> is to identify the needs of Local Health Departments\n\n\n    (LHD\u2019s) and their constituents and to ensure that they have a means by which to evaluate the effectiveness of their practice in\n\n\n    achieving health equity. In addition, they are designed to increase awareness of and draw attention to health inequity, provide a\n\n\n    method for evaluating accountability, and enable LHDs to gain a portrait of their capacity to address health equity. The intent is to\n\n\n    equip LHDs with the tools they need to set priorities, compare themselves to other agencies, and educate elected officials and other\n\n\n    institutions that influence health about what they can accomplish.\n\n\n  <\/li>\n\n\n  <li>\n\n\n    <a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/dph\/pdf\/toolkitforahealthydelaware.pdf\">Toolkit for a Healthy Delaware, 2013, Institute for Public Administration, University of\n\n\n    Delaware<\/a><br>\n\n\n    Toolkit for a Healthy Delaware is a presentation, developed by the University of Delaware\u2019s Institute for Public Administration.\n\n\n    It outlines the steps to take toward making Delawareans healthier through policy and community initiatives. With bills, executive\n\n\n    orders, and senate resolutions, transforming Delaware into a thriving, healthy state should be an exciting venture.
