Yes, there are several programs in Delaware which allow participants to hire, train, and supervise their own personal care attendants (including family members and friends). - Personal Attendant Services program administered by the Division of Services for Aging and Adults with Physical Disabilities
- Personal Attendant Services program available through Diamond State Health Plan Plus (Medicaid managed long-term care system)
- Personal Attendant Services program available through Pathways to Employment (Medicaid employment program for youth and young adults with disabilities)
In order for a caregiver to be paid as a personal care attendant, the person receiving the care must be eligible for and enrolled in a Personal Attendant Services Program.
