for your health care, or have not named an agent in a health care power of attorney, and you\n\n\n  become unable to make your own decisions, a surrogate will be asked to make those decisions for you.\n\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\n\n\n  The persons listed below would be asked to assume the role of surrogate in the following order of priority:\n\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n<ol>\n\n\n  <li>Spouse\n\n\n  <\/li>\n\n\n  <li>Adult child\n\n\n  <\/li>\n\n\n  <li>Parent\n\n\n  <\/li>\n\n\n  <li>Adult brother or sister\n\n\n  <\/li>\n\n\n  <li>Adult grandchild\n\n\n  <\/li>\n\n\n  <li>Adult niece or nephew\n\n\n  <\/li>\n\n\n  <li>Adult aunt or uncle\n\n\n  <\/li>\n\n\n<\/ol>\n\n\n<p>\n\n\n  Under specific circumstances,\u00a0a close friend\u00a0may also act in the role of surrogate.\n\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\n\n\n
