Volunteers play an important role in helping us achieve this goal. DVI volunteers\n\n\n  contribute their time and talents in the following ways:\n\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n<h2>\n\n\n  Office Assistant \/ Library Aide\n\n\n<\/h2>\n\n\n<p>\n\n\n  These Volunteers assist the <a href=\"\/dvi\/materctr.html\">DVI Instructional Materials and Resource Center team<\/a> in the following\n\n\n  ways to help provide <strong>Accessible Educational Materials (AEM)<\/strong> to our blind and visually impaired K12 clients:\n\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n<ul>\n\n\n  <li>Duplicating copies of braille\n\n\n  <\/li>\n\n\n  <li>Scanning hardcopy to digital formats\n\n\n  <\/li>\n\n\n  <li>Binding books\n\n\n  <\/li>\n\n\n  <li>Enlarging textbook print\n\n\n  <\/li>\n\n\n  <li>Label and catalogue books and equipment\n\n\n  <\/li>\n\n\n  <li>Typing\n\n\n  <\/li>\n\n\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<h2>\n\n\n  Computer Lab Monitor\n\n\n<\/h2>\n\n\n<p>\n\n\n  These Volunteers assist the DVI clients who visit our Computer Labs in the following ways:\n\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n<ul>\n\n\n  <li>Assisting the client (if the need is present) with logging onto a computer and starting a specific application\n\n\n  <\/li>\n\n\n  <li>Logging the names and times of the visitors to the Computer Lab.\n\n\n  <\/li>\n\n\n  <li>Escorting a visitor to and from the Computer Lab\n\n\n  <\/li>\n\n\n  <li>Noting and reporting any problems or difficulties that a visitor may have experienced\n\n\n  <\/li>\n\n\n  <li>Serve as a liaison to the Trainer\/Educators or the staff who oversee the Computer Labs\n\n\n  <\/li>\n\n\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<p>\n\n\n  Opportunities for volunteers are constantly changing and growing at the Division for the Visually Impaired.
