Chemical Terrorism Preparedness
The Delaware Public Laboratory Chemical Terrorism Preparedness section has the capability to test for agents of chemical terrorism such as nerve agents, cyanide, toxic, heavy and nutritional metals, including lead in blood of preschool children. The Chemical Preparedness section provides training and guidance to sentinel laboratories (hospital and environmental). The Delaware Public Health Laboratory works with federal, state and external partners to develop action plans. ICP/MS methods are used to determine lead in the blood of preschool children.
