Governor's Advisory Council on Hispanic Affairs - Services

The Governor's Advisory Council on Hispanic Affairs serves as a leading voice and a bridge between the Hispanic community in Delaware and state government.

  • Hispanic Student Recognition Program - The Hispanic Student Recognition Program (HSRP) is a joint effort by the Latin American Community Center (LACC) and the Governor's Advisory Council on Hispanic Affairs (GACHA) to recognize and acknowledge high achieving Latino high and middle school students.
  • Economic Development Committee - The Economic Development Committee (EDC) has been focusing on the issue of financial literacy and access to information for small business owners.
  • Health Committee - The mission of the Governor's Council on Hispanic Affairs Health Committee is focused on understanding healthcare barriers for Delaware Hispanics and to advise our governor on strategies to eliminate them.
  • Education Committee - From its inception, one of the Council's objectives was to identify key areas in which Hispanic Delawareans were struggling, and it quickly became apparent that education was one of these areas.
  • Social Justice Committee - The Social Justice Committee takes complaints regarding a variety of issues pertaining to equity of treatment and discrimination. Each one is investigated and an outcome eventually reached.
