Other Arthropod Vectors and Pests

Mosquitoes and ticks are not the only arthropods that can transmit germs to humans – fleas, triatomine bugs, body lice, black flies, biting midges, and many other insects are known to transmit bacteria, viruses, and parasites. Many other arthropods like head lice, bed bugs, chiggers, and cockroaches do not carry diseases, but can remain a public health nuisance.
