Can I get paid for being a caregiver for a family member or friend?
In order for you to get paid for being a caregiver, the person who you care for must be eligible for and enrolled in a Personal Attendant Services program. There are several Personal Attendant Services programs in Delaware. These programs allow participants to hire, train, and supervise their own personal care attendants (including family members and friends). To learn more about Personal Attendant Services programs, please see Are there programs in Delaware that will allow me to hire my own attendant?
If you have questions or need more information, please contact the Delaware Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC).
