Community Partner Support Unit

The Community Partner Support Unit (CPSU) helps increase access to services by providing ongoing, personalized support to organizations that serve those in need.

The CPSU:

  • Serves as a bridge between DHSS divisions and community organizations that serve clients eligible for state benefits including TANF (Temporary Cash Assistance for Needy Families), General Assistance, SNAP (Food Benefits), Child Care support, and Medicaid.
  • Trains partners to help their clients apply for benefits onsite using ASSIST Self Service.

  • Acts as a contact for community partners seeking resources for underserved clients.
  • Collaborates with businesses, community organizations and employment-and-training vendors to help Delawareans get, and keep, self-sustaining jobs.
  • Supports state and local governments in Delaware in their efforts to stabilize economically depressed neighborhoods, prevent youth violence, and improve quality of life.
  • Partners with the Wilmington Police to help residents of West Center City access needed services, including job training and employment, through on-site interviews at the Porter State Service Center.
  • Places social workers in community hubs such as libraries and community centers.
  • Supports programs to help ex-offenders succeed as they re-enter the community.
