The Delaware Division of Public Health (DPH) is sharing with all health care providers the availability of a webinar on Lyme disease, jointly produced by the Medical Society of Delaware (MSD) and DPH. The webinar is offered at no cost. The MSD designates this enduring educational activity for a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
This webinar describes the epidemiology (with particular emphasis on Delaware), early recognition, and prevention of Lyme disease. The webinar is suitable for physicians, physician assistants, and all levels of nurses (i.e., advanced practice, RN, LPN). Early recognition of Lyme disease is key to decreasing associated morbidity and promoting positive health outcomes.
Lyme disease continues to be the most common vectorborne disease in the United States. Delaware is considered a high-incidence state for Lyme disease. It is the third most common notifiable condition in Delaware behind sexually-transmitted diseases and hepatitis C.
