Carol Barnett, a Planner with the Delaware Division of Services for Aging and Adults with Disabilities (DSAAPD), is a dedicated advocate for older people, people with disabilities, and caregivers. She is also a caregiver herself. Carol is the primary caregiver for her brother, Steve, who has cerebral palsy.
On December 3, 2015 at a Delaware Health Care Commission meeting, AARP honored Carol and presented her with a "Portrait of Care," a hand-painted portrait of Carol and Steve together. AARP selected one caregiver from each state, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands for this recognition through its I Heart Caregivers storytelling initiative.

Congratulations, Carol, on this well-deserved recognition!
