The Delaware Division of Services for Aging and Adults with Physical Disabilities is pleased to announce that it will have new leadership beginning January 18, 2016. Lisa Bond has been named Division Director and Al Griffith has been named Deputy Director.
Lisa Bond has worked for the Delaware Department of Health and Social Services in various positions for over 21 years. She began her career working with the Division of Social Services in the areas of social work, information systems support, and project management. She subsequently worked with the Division of Medicaid and Medical Assistance where she carried out new initiatives to provide healthcare to low income, uninsured families and individuals. In May 2006, she accepted the position of Planning Supervisor for the Division of Services for Aging and Adults with Physical Disabilities (DSAAPD). In this role Lisa oversaw a variety of functions including strategic planning, Medicaid Waivers, grant writing, quality assurance, public relations, and management of the agency's health and wellness programs. In September 2010, Lisa was named DSAAPD Deputy Director. As the agency’s Deputy Director, Lisa was responsible for the operation the various staff units including the Service Delivery and Program Unit, the Planning, Policy, and Program Development Unit, and the Training Unit. She led all home and community based operations for the Division including the Delaware Aging and Disability Resource Center, information and assistance, intake, case management, and nursing. In addition, she established the agency's legislative agenda and partnered with the Division of Medicaid and Medical Assistance and other organizations on various initiatives to improve and rebalance the State's long term care system.
Al Griffith began his career with the State of Delaware over 35 years ago, working first for the Department of Labor, Division of Unemployment Insurance maintaining and auditing financial records. He joined the Department of Health and Social Services in 1985 working first for the Division of Social Services as a Senior Accountant then with Division of State Service Centers as a Social Services Senior Administrator. At the Division of State Service Centers, Al was responsible for managing various teams including fiscal operations, contracts, information technology, and disaster management. He also supervised two building renovation projects and was responsible for facility management at seventeen locations. Al joined DSAAPD in 2001 and served as Chief Financial Officer/Social Service Chief Administrator. As Chief Financial Officer/Social Service Chief Administrator, Al was responsible for managing numerous agency wide operations including finance and budget, contract and provider relations, information technology systems, facility management, human resources, and payroll. Al also led efforts to acquire new data systems and an initiative to analyze and streamline expenditures of long-term care facilities while maintaining the quality of life of residents.
