The Division of Public Health and its partners of the Immunization Coalition of Delaware will join the Sussex Child Health Promotion Coalition (SCHPC) and the towns of Laurel, Bridgeville, Georgetown, Lewes and Seaford to promote the "Spring into Health Community Walk" on April 17.
The walk will be held simultaneously in all five towns at the following locations:
The SCHPC and its partners have been actively involved in promoting healthy lifestyles for Sussex County children and their families. The annual event promotes the prevention of childhood obesity and early onset diabetes. This year's theme is "Get Out, Get Moving and Get Healthy."
The event typically draws about 1400 people and will include mayors or representatives from each of the towns reading a proclamation. Informational displays, health screenings and special kids' activities will be available at each location. The first 100 children at each site will receive a free t-shirt. Each event is free and open to the public
For more information about the walk please call 302-444-9062.
