Delawareans can safely dispose of expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs at 29 locations statewide April 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The free service, part of National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day, is completely confidential - no questions asked. To find a Delaware location near you, go to governor.delaware.gov/docs/presdrugtakeback.shtml
Individuals may dispose of prescription and over-the-counter oral medication (tablets, capsules and liquids) at the collection sites. Aerosols and injectables will not be accepted.
The public is encouraged to take advantage of this medication disposal method rather than flushing medication down the toilet or throwing it in the trash, which can pose potential safety and health hazards.
Delaware Health and Social Services is committed to improving the quality of the lives of Delaware's citizens by promoting health and well-being, fostering self-sufficiency, and protecting vulnerable populations.
