Dover -
The State Office of Volunteerism and the Kent County Public Library will host a volunteer fair from 1-3 p.m. Oct. 22 at the library.
"Volunteering not only contributes to the very fabric of our communities, but it also has been demonstrated to benefit the volunteer. That act of giving back has both physical and emotional benefits for the volunteer," said Delaware Department of Health and Social Services Secretary Rita M. Landgraf.
Prospective volunteers of all ages are invited to learn about such opportunities as Big Brothers Big Sisters, Faithful Friends, Job Center at Delaware Libraries, Nanticoke Watershed Alliance, ContactLifeline and many more.
The Kent County Library is at 497 S. Red Haven Lane in Dover.
For more information about the volunteer fair or to have your group included, contact Carrie Hart with the State Office of Volunteerism at (302) 857-5006.
