LICENSING AND CERTIFICATION PROCESS FOR LONG TERM CARE FACILITIES

The Division of Long Term Care Residents Protection is responsible for State licensure of long term care facilities in Delaware. All nursing homes, intermediate care facilities, assisted living facilities, group homes, neighborhood homes, rest (residential) homes, and family care homes must be licensed to operate in the State of Delaware. The Division also certifies nursing homes that wish to participate in the Medicare and/or Medicaid programs.
