DRINKING WATER NOTICE

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR DRINKING WATER

Monitoring & Reporting Violation
for Forest Park

Our water system violated drinking water monitoring requirements over the past year. Even though these were not emergencies, as our customers, you have a right to know what happened and what we are doing to correct these situations.

We are required to monitor your drinking water for specific contaminants on a regular basis. Results of regular monitoring are an indicator of whether or not our drinking water meets health standards. Forest Park failed to perform Lead and Copper Monitoring sampling for the monitoring periods of 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007. We did not complete all required monitoring to maintain compliance with the Lead and Copper Rule and therefore cannot be sure of the quality of our drinking water during that time.

What should I do?

There is nothing you need to do at this time.

The table below lists the contaminant(s) we did not properly test for during the last year, how often we are supposed to sample for this set of contaminants and how many samples we are supposed to take, how many samples we took, when samples should have been taken, and the date on which follow-up samples were (or will be) taken.

Violation Number of Samples When Sampling Should Have Been Performed When Sampling Will Be Performed
Lead Monitoring 5 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007 Before June 20, 2008
Copper Monitoring 5 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007 Before June 20, 2008

What happened? What is being done?

We failed to collect the required lead and copper samples during the monitoring period. We will collect the samples between July 1, 2008 and December 31, 2008. For more information, please contact Ms. Helen Cropper at (302) 934-8556.

Please share this information with all the other people who drink this water, especially those who may not have received this notice directly. You can do this by posting this notice in a public place or distributing copies by hand or mail.
