Requesting Parental Leave & Using eStar

To get you started with Parental Leave, you will need to complete the Parental Leave Request Form and Parental Leave Calendar.

You will also need to log into eSTAR and submit your request electronically. This same process would be followed for requesting FMLA. Only one of these three options can be selected when requesting Parental Leave:

  • I'm pregnant or need time off to deliver my baby
  • I need time to bond with a new child
  • I need time to complete an adoption or foster child placement

Please do not choose "other" as the reason for requesting FMLA and do not choose "some other schedule" when choosing the duration that you expect to be away from work.

  • Parental Leave Request Form: This form is required to be completed, signed and dated by you and your immediate supervisor.
  • Parental Leave Calendar: This calendar is required to be completed by you and reviewed by your immediate supervisor if you are taking Parental Leave continuously or intermittently.

Please click on the links below. The Parental Leave Job Aid will walk you through the process, step-by-step
