The Advisory Council to the Division of Developmental Disabilities Services shall serve in an advisory capacity to the Director of the Division of Developmental Disabilities Services and shall consider matters relating to persons diagnosed with intellectual disabilities or specific developmental disabilities in the State and such matters as may be referred to it by the Governor, Secretary of the Department or Director of the Division of Developmental Disabilities Services. The Council may study, research, plan and advise the Director, the Secretary and the Governor on matters it deems appropriate to enable the Division to function in the best possible manner.

Member Spotlight - Timothy Brooks
Tim Brooks has been an advocate for persons with disabilities for over 45 years. He has served on the Advisory Council for DDDS for 31 years. He and his wife, Martha, have a 56 year old son who is in a residential placement with DDDS. Tim's other life was as a university administrator and faculty member. He received a doctorate in higher education from Oregon State University and worked in higher education for 40 years. Prior to that he served in the Army as a combat platoon leader in Vietnam and Cambodia.
