What to Look For
Abuse and neglect can take many forms. You don’t have to be sure—just concerned.
Signs may include:
- Unexplained injuries, poor hygiene, or untreated medical issues
- Sudden confusion, withdrawal, or fear
- Isolation or a lack of contact with friends and family
- Unusual financial activity or unpaid bills

Who We Help
A vulnerable adult is anyone 18 or older who, due to age, disability, illness, or isolation, is at higher risk for harm or exploitation.
APS supports people who may be experiencing:
- Physical or emotional abuse
- Neglect or self-neglect
- Financial exploitation
- Abandonment or mistreatment

Mandated Reporting
Anyone can and should report suspected harm. But certain professionals—such as those who work for financial institutions and medical providers—are legally required to do so.
