
The Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health (DSAMH) partners with Brandywine Counseling & Community Services to provide free harm reduction vending machines across Delaware.
The machines provide free, 24/7, confidential access to essential supplies to prevent overdose and the spread of infectious diseases:
- Overdose prevention: Naloxone (Narcan) kits and fentanyl test strips
- Wound care: Kits for individuals addicted to drugs like xylazine
- Infection and disease prevention: Safe sex kits, at-home HIV test kits, and at-home Hepatitis test kits
- Hygiene supplies: Travel-sized and dental hygiene kits
How to use the vending machines
It’s easy and anonymous to use the vending machines.
- Enter a ZIP code on the touchscreen (you will find one posted on the machine itself)
- Select the desired items from the menu.
- The items are then dispensed for free.

There are five harm-reduction vending machines available in Delaware:
- Wilmington: Brandywine Counseling & Community Services, 2713 Lancaster Ave.
- Newark: Brandywine Counseling & Community Services, 24 Brookhill Drive
- Dover: Brandywine Counseling & Community Services, 698 S. Bay Road
- Milford: Brandywine Counseling & Community Services, 769 E. Masten Circle
- Georgetown: Springboard Pallet Village, 411 Kimmey St.
