    Harm Reduction Vending Machine

    The Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health (DSAMH) partners with Brandywine Counseling & Community Services to provide free harm reduction vending machines across Delaware.

    The machines provide free, 24/7, confidential access to essential supplies to prevent overdose and the spread of infectious diseases:

    • Overdose prevention: Naloxone (Narcan) kits and fentanyl test strips
    • Wound care: Kits for individuals addicted to drugs like xylazine
    • Infection and disease prevention: Safe sex kits, at-home HIV test kits, and at-home Hepatitis test kits
    • Hygiene supplies: Travel-sized and dental hygiene kits

    How to use the vending machines

    It’s easy and anonymous to use the vending machines.

    1. Enter a ZIP code on the touchscreen (you will find one posted on the machine itself)
    2. Select the desired items from the menu.
    3. The items are then dispensed for free.

    There are five harm-reduction vending machines available in Delaware: 

    • Wilmington: Brandywine Counseling & Community Services, 2713 Lancaster Ave.
    • Newark: Brandywine Counseling & Community Services, 24 Brookhill Drive
    • Dover: Brandywine Counseling & Community Services, 698 S. Bay Road
    • Milford: Brandywine Counseling & Community Services, 769 E. Masten Circle
    • Georgetown: Springboard Pallet Village, 411 Kimmey St.
