Sometimes families don’t even know where to begin for help with mental health, addiction or substance use disorder. Bridge clinics provide just the starting point they need.
The Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health (DSAMH) operates four walk-in Bridge Clinics strategically located throughout the state of Delaware for those seeking a connection with mental health and substance use treatment and services. A mobile Bridge Clinic also travels the state providing free mental health, addiction treatment and harm-prevention services to individuals living in encampments.
No appointment needed. Just walk in for on-site access to:
- Mental health and substance use disorder screening and referrals by a licensed clinician who will connect you to the right treatment for your individual needs
- Free Naloxone (Narcan) overdose reversal medication – and training on how to use it
- Clinically appropriate prescribed medications for opiate use disorder and psychiatric diagnoses
When you visit a DSAMH Bridge Clinic, you’ll see a qualified, licensed clinician and be matched with a peer recovery specialist who understands what you’re going through – because they’ve been where you are themselves.
Together, your Bridge Clinic team will help you with the immediate needs that brought you in to the clinic in the first place – and they’ll be the bridge to help you navigate the recommended follow-up care you need from community providers.
All services are available regardless of ability to pay, and your Bridge Clinic team may even be able to help you arrange transportation to and from future visits.
