About the Division of Medicaid & Medical Assistance

The Division of Medicaid and Medical Assistance (DMMA) administers a variety of medical assistance programs to make sure low-income Delawareans, including individuals, families, children, and pregnant women, some seniors and thousands of people with developmental and physical disabilities have access to the healthcare services they need.

Medicaid provides medical assistance to eligible low-income families and to eligible people who are aged, blind and/or disabled and whose income is too low to meet the cost of necessary medical services. Medicaid pays for: doctor visits, hospital care, labs, prescription drugs, transportation, routine shots for children, mental health and substance abuse services.
